Our days lately seem to be somewhat the same. Barb will get up, and sit on the sofa for a good bit of the morning and then get back into bed for a nap. Seberina makes her breakfast and lunch if Barb feels like eating. She is sleeping more and making very little conversation, and even that is tough for her.
I had a hospital bed delivered this past Friday. Barb made a comment that it would be easier on me getting her into bed, and not having to put pillows under her feet to keep them raised, or under her head to keep her propped up. It seems to be working fairly well.
There is one thing Barb has not lost, and that is her sense of humor. She still comes out with those one line zingers, that just make me laugh. It is also a reminder of how much I am going to miss that part of her.
We (I) watched the GEORGIA game this past Saturday, and on opening kickoff, Barb did give the kickoff cry…Goooooooo DAWGS! Sic Em, woof, woof, woof, woof, woof! I was quite proud of her.:) Speaking of great dogs, our Mollie is amazing. I swear she knows what is going on and is so sensitive to Barb and me. She goes back and forth between lying on the floor at the entrance to the bedroom or the floor next to Barb’s hospital bed.
The hospice nurse will be here tomorrow…we have a new one, who is just wonderful. They are a different breed, where do these people come from?
Our friends and family do not stop….Flowers, food, and beautiful faces show up at the door. You are wonderful.
